To open up the new season, HOP pulls up a very ambitious plan. Three duathlon races of 3 various distances, in the same area, with wave starts 5mn appart from each others... 

Add to that: a record number of participants of more than 200 athletes, more than 75% of which are completely new to the world of multi-sport, and a rainy grey day... 

There was some confusion on the day and although the day unfolded well for most athletes, the organisation was strained greatly. Lesson learned and we vowed never to organise multiple distance races for first-timers on the same day.
