Marie Leautey: I discovered triathlons in Scotland back in 2005. Triathlon sounded the good mix of fun and variety to keep the mind and body going. As I got to spend time in Greece with my job, I started looking in 2006 for the triathlon calendar. To my dismay, there was none. Here was this ideal country for the sport, with warm seas and good weather... and not a triathlon in sight. Something wasn't quite right. I got right into it and organised benevolently the 1st Edition of the "Triathlon of Schinias Bay" in May 2007. In 2008 "Hop! Events Ltd" was born, in an effort to deploy the appropriate resources to sustain the project to permanently establish Triathlon on the map of sports in Greece.

Leonidas Athanasopoulos: It started with a simple offer to help provide a website after the first Schiniathlon, May 2007. I got involved in all organizational details at the side of Marie. My contribution grew bigger and bigger and I started contributing on a crucial operational point: the time-keeping methodology of the complex triathlon events. We first developed a software which relied on RFID technology. We experienced with different qualities and varieties of chips, over the years, until we found our ultimate solution. CHRONOLOG.GR became the timing solution behind Schiniathlon: chip timing, live results...

Dimitris Moraitis: Owner of the Schinias Sports Center, fond of sports, and until 2007, 100% water-sports-addict. Supported Marie to host the event at its 1st Edition on 12th May 2007, although not knowing much about the sport itself. Became instantly hooked on the enthusiasm, the atmosphere  and curious about the hype. Since then, the resort has been strongly associated with the growth of the Schiniathlon event (and growth of triathlon in Greece) due to Dimitris constant support. The resort some days looks more like a triathlon training base than the Water-Sports Centre it originally was! D. Moraitis
